What They Never Told You About Niche Marketing

Author: Kurt Naulaerts

In today's world, it seems that almost any topic is open for debate. While I was gathering facts for this article, I was quite surprised to find some of the issues on Niche Marketing I thought were settled are actually still being openly discussed.

Whenever you create a niche product, always have the customer you are selling to in mind. Think of this person or group of people as having a problem they need a solution to. You may even want to contact someone who is looking specifically for the solution and ask them precisely what it is that they need most in a niche product.

Before moving into a niche and concentrating resources to work on it, you will want to consider launching a smaller niche product first to test the market. Some niche forums, for instance, will allow business owners to sell products. You may want to see how the response is to your product before you then attempt to penetrate your niche further with a more expensive product.

Create a niche product that automates a labor intensive task. For instance, submitting articles to directories is a labor intensive task. This is why many article submitters have sold extremely well. Creating software is almost the best way to go about this task, but information products will sometimes work too.

Always use beta testers for your niche product. If you already have a listed, this is an easy way to get testers. Simply send out a broadcast to your list asking if people are interested in getting a free copy of your product in turn for their feedback. This does two things for you: it helps you work out bugs and potential problems and it also gets you positive testimonials at the same time.

All niche product creation projects should start with a research phase. While you can actually make money selling any product, it is always a good idea to start with one of the many paths of least resistance. This will guarantee that it isn't unnecessarily hard to market your product to your target audience.

You may want to outsource your niche product creation projects that involve writing to freelancers. In many cases, hiring a team with high quality, experienced writers and researchers will often yield a better result than even our own best efforts. That is because these professionals have experience in creating hundreds of products just like this.

One good way in which to approach the niche product research phase is to setup multiple content sites that are monetized with Adsense ads. If a given site starts generating a considerable amount of natural traffic, test out some affiliate links. If they work, then begin working on your own product for that niche.

Consider creating a niche service, rather than a niche product. Find one specific input that all business owners in a given niche require. Develop a consistent, reliable, high quality, and reasonably priced service for that specific input. Contact webmasters in that niche and alert them to your new service.
